About Ilmeanwhile Restoration and How Referrals Work
Who We Are
Ilmeanwhile Restoration is a referral service for homeowners dealing with water damage. We are not a restoration company. We do not send anyone to your door to do the work. Think of us as a well-organized phone book that also explains what the entries mean.
Why We Exist
Water trouble is confusing. Terms like extraction, structural drying, and moisture mapping can sound like a foreign language. Many people feel pushed to say yes to the first quote they hear.
This site exists to slow that moment down. We explain the problem in plain words, then help you reach independent providers so you can compare, then decide.
How Providers Are Matched
You tell us a little about your situation, or you call. We then point you toward independent providers in our network that serve your part of the Greater Seattle area.
The match depends on your location and the type of help you need. A flooded basement cleanup is a different job from a slow leak behind a wall, and providers differ in what they handle.
What We Expect From Providers
Providers in our network are independent businesses. We ask them to:
- Explain their process in plain language
- Give clear written estimates
- Answer questions without pressure
- Treat your home with care
You should still check each provider's own licensing, insurance, and references. That step is yours, and it matters.
What We Do Not Do
We do not perform repairs, drying, or cleanup. We do not set prices or promise how fast a provider can arrive. Many providers can respond quickly, but availability varies.
We also cannot tell you what your insurance will do. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
How We Are Paid
Being open about money builds trust. Providers in our network may pay Ilmeanwhile Restoration for referrals. That does not change what you are quoted, and you are never required to hire anyone we connect you with.
After the Repair
Fixing the damage is only half the story. We also share simple habits to help keep water out, such as checking gutters, watching crawl spaces, and spotting early signs of dampness.
